Not-so-fun-fact: Men’s scalps are typically thicker than women’s and on average can produce twice the level of oil. This can make your scalp more prone to sensitivity, dryness, redness and irritation. Luckily, the Aveda Men’s line has been formulated to meet the distinct hair care needs of men.
To start you’ll smell the spicy, refreshing aroma composed of kunzea, certified organic lemon, spearmint, vetiver and lavender essential oils. In addition to smelling amazing, spearmint offers a pleasant tingling sensation to the scalp, which both soothes and let’s you know it’s doing work.
In addition to the power of the pure-fume, both shampoo and conditioner feature ingredients like Seaweed (helps act as protective barrier for the skin & scalp); Plai and Tamanu oil (used for centuries to soothe dry or irritated scalps, respectively); and licorice root (used by the Chinese for centuries to soothe and calm).
My partner upgraded from the “best a grocery store could offer” to the Aveda Men’s line and his results have been remarkable! All redness, dryness and flaking are gone, plus his scalp no longer feels dry and tight after washing. He’s a huge fan of the reduced dandruff and itching, while I’m a huge fan of how amazing his hair looks and smells now!
P.S. Women can totally use this product – I ‘borrow’ my partner’s Pure-formance conditioner all the time! The conditioner is lighter than most products for women, making it ideal for conditioning closer to the root. I’ll condition with Nutri-Plenish or Botanical Repair from mid-shaft to tip and Pure-Formance from scalp to mid-shaft.
